OnePlus seems ready to launch its awaited third flagship, OnePlus X on October 29. The company will hold simultaneous events in London, Jakarta and Beijing to showcase the device. The OnePlus X is said to be the secondary and cheaper version of previously released OnePlus 2.
The Chinese company posted an update along with a teaser image on its blog with the tagline “See you on October 29, India.” The image though doesn’t disclose any thing about the product but an image of large X indicating that the Smartphone would most likely be christened ‘OnePlus X’.
It is also speculated that OnePlus would start reservations for the event, to be held on October 29, at 4:30 PM IST. OnePlus X, otherwise called OnePlus mini, is rumored to come with a 5.5-inches display with 1920×1080p screen resolution and will be driven by MediaTek’s Helio Mt6795 chipset that features an octa-core processor clocked at 2.2 GHz along with 64-bit computing.
OnePlus X will feature a Corning’s Gorilla Glass version 3 or 4 and will be guarded by a hydrophobic and an oleophobic coating. In addition, handset is expected to run on the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow with OxygenOS custom ROM on the top.
In terms of camera, OnePlus X is being speculated to incorporate Sony’s 13 MP IMX258 camera sensors at the back which can record 4K video at 30 FPS with dual-tone LED flash support. The handset also features a 5 MP front snapper with the ability to record 1080p videos.
Other key features include 3000-3100mAh non-removable battery, Type- C connector along with Quick Charger 2.0, IR blaster, front-facing speakers and Bluetooth v4.1. OnePlus X will be a water and dust resistant handset and is IP67 certified.
For now, these are all just rumors of a prototype device, while the public awaits the grand launch on October 29th.
