The South Korean multinational, Samsung has recently announced its latest budget-friendly smartphone in India, named Samsung Galaxy J3 (2016). The handset comes with a price tag of Rs. 8990 and is accessible only via Snapdeal.
The Smartphone sports a special S-Bike feature to guarantee safety of bike riders as they use their smartphone. Galaxy J3 (2016) is the first Samsung smartphone to feature this mode. The credit for the design and idea of the S-mode goes to the Samsung India R&D team.
According to Asim Warsi, Senior VP, Samsung Electronics:
“We’ve noticed that a lot of our budget smartphone users are the ones who are also most likely to be using a bike. And very often when they are on a bike, they can’t tell whether the call they are getting is urgent. The S-bike mode is aimed at solving this problem.”
The S-bike mode can be activated simply by tapping the handset’s NFC-powered tag which can be stuck on helmet or a fuel tank
The Smartphone features a faux leather rear panel and is avaiable in three color options including gold, black and white colors.
The handset offers touch-enabled 5-inches display and is powered by quad-core SoC clocked at 1.2GHz coupled with 1.5GB of RAM. The device packs in 8GB of internal storage that can be extended up to 128GB.
In terms of camera, Samsung Galaxy J3 (2016) features an 8MP primary shooter along with 5MP front-facing camera to click selfies. The handset sports 2600mAh non-removable battery backup and will run on Android 5.1 out of the box.
