Sony has announced Australian launch details for trio of flagship phones. According to Sony, two of its smartphones including Xperia Z5 and Xperia Z5 Compact will be launched in Australia next week, followed by a bigger Xperia Z5 Premium in November.
In terms of specs, the Z5 compact features a 4.6-inches display with 720p resolution. On the other hand the Xperia Z5 supports a 5.2-inches display with 1080p screen resolution. While Z5 premium with its 5.5-inches screen is the world’s first phone with a 4K display.
Except for resolution, dimensions and screen, all Xperia smartphones are feature almost similar specs. The phones feature a 23 MP camera with an advanced image stabilization capability. According to the Japanese company the provided camera can auto-focus or re-focus in a mere 0.03 seconds. The handsets will also have a 5 MP front facing snapper. All three Xperia flagships come with a powerful Snapdragon 810 processor along with the small inbuilt fingerprint scanner.
Sony is famous for supplying camera sensors to its competitors as well. For its own flagship range, the company has decided to use 1/2.3-inch EXMOR RS 23 MP sensor.
In addition, the phones feature a 2900mAh for standard Z5, 2700mAh battery for Compact and 3430mAh for the Premium. The phones also support a water resistance capability like their precursors.
Additional specs include an expandable 32 GB internal memory (up to 200 GB) and 3 GB of RAM. Compact however comes with a 2 GB of RAM.
All of these flagships will run Android Lollipop 5.1.1 at launch, though the Japanese manufacturer says upgrading to Marshmallow is in their future course of action.
The phones will offer various color options including black, gold, white and dark green for the Z5, white, pink and yellow for the Compact and black, gold and chrome for the Premium. The variants can be purchased October onwards when the trio gets officially unveiled globally.
