The Canadian tech giant ‘BlackBerry’ is planning to unveil a new device that will decide the fate of the company. BlackBerry is now allowing its customers to pre-register for the first of a kind, an Android-based, QWERTY handset, called ‘Priv’.
BlackBerry has set up a special pre-registration page which entices the visitors into opting for Blackberry Priv with its specs and features. Once the registration is done with, the company will also assist its customers in ensuring the availability of the device in their countries.
According to the details shared on the pre-registration page, the Priv will feature a 5.4-inches dual curved display. The pixel density has not yet been disclosed by the company. The phone will also feature a 3140mAh battery which is quite big for the smartphones of this size.
The Priv is said to offer both touch and a physical keyboard that slides in and out. In addition, it will also include amazing Audio efficiency. The upcoming device will also support a variety of apps on Google Play Store. Cherry on the cake is the new a warning system, named “DTEK”, which is being offered by the company. Allegedly DTEK provides the users their requisite privacy and will help them in keeping their device safe.
The device is also rumored to feature 808 Snapdragon processor, 18 MP camera, 3GB RAM, 32GB expandable storage and a QHD display.
BlackBerry has been popular for its camera lens. Keeping up with the tradition, an indication regarding the inclusion of a Schneider-Kreuznach approved camera has also been given.
According to CEO John Chen,
“BlackBerry’s heritage and core mission of protecting our customer’s privacy…”
BlackBerry Priv will set the buyers back by $630. BlackBerry once held the leading position in the cell phone market but as per IDC the company’s share has declined to 0.3%. Priv hopefully will bring back the lost glory.
